Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeats FGCU to Close ASUN Dual Meet Action Undefeated

FORT MYERS, Fla. - University of Delaware women's swimming and diving program picked up its second-consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference dual meet victory at FGCU, ending the calendar year with a 3-1 (2-0 ASUN) record. The Fightin' Blue Hens came from behind to defeat the Eagles 135.00 to 127.00.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
The team returns from its training trip to Florida to compete in a quad-meet in Annapolis, Md., against Kenyon, Navy, and Princeton from January 9-10.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- In the final race of the day, the 400-freestyle relay, UD was able to pick up the final points needed to capture the victory.
- The squad enters 2026 ranked first in the ASUN, according to Swimcloud rankings.
- Delaware placed first in nine of the 14 events on the day.
- Judy Liu started off the day for the Hens, winning the 300-yard free at 2:52.14.
- Victoria Novinskiy picked up three wins, continuing her torrid senior season, in the 150-yard fly (1:24.77), 50-yard fly (24.08), and 100-yard IM (55.23).
- Bri Cottingham swam a 1:39.21 in the 150-yard breast.
- Lauren Hartel cruised to a win in the 1650-yard freestyle at 16:55.15.
- Torun McGillis won the 300-yard IM at 3:15.27, with Piper Price finishing second (3:15.78).
- UD swept the top three in the 150-yard free, with Liu swimming a 1:20.38, Angelica Ragazzoni placing second at 1:20.66, and Olivia Willemsen coming in third at 1:21.02.
- Ragazzoni, Liu, Naia Legarda, and Willemsen pulled off the exciting finish, earning Delaware the victory, by swimming the 400-yard free relay at 3:24.67.
- Alex Pastris (269.85) and Keira Allison (251.85) took second and third place, respectively, in the 1 meter dive.
