University of Delaware Health and Injury Insurance Policies and Procedures:

- Verify Primary Insurance Has Processed:
	
- Ensure that your primary insurance has processed each bill
 - If not, contact your insurance provider to update details
 - Note: The University of Delaware cannot cover any balance if primary insurance delays due to late filing.
 
 - Gather Required Documents:
	
- After your primary insurance company processes your claim, gather all bills with remaining balances along with the Explanation of Benefit Forms (EOBs) showing that each bill has been processed.
 - The EOB is a statement from your primary insurance company outlining payments made, remaining balances and reason codes for any denied payments.
 
 - Submission of Medical Bills
	
- Â Email the medical bills with a remaining balance and the EOB to the athletic department business office (athl-businessoffice@udel.edu) for submission to our secondary insurance provider.
 
 - Follow-Up:
