Mike Mucci joined the Blue Hens in November 2017 as men's tennis assistant coach. He previously served as a tennis professional at the Tennis Club of Rochester, Village Glen Tennis Club and Town of Grand Island in addition to a stint as the men’s and women’s tennis head coach at his alma mater, Niagara University.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Blue Hen family,” remarked Mucci. “There are so many positive things happening at the University of Delaware and within the athletics department and I’m blessed to be a part of it. I’d like to specifically thank Pablo and the entire search committee for giving me this opportunity. Working with someone that has Pablo’s track record in helping build this program is a special thing and I can’t wait to get started.”
Mucci graduated from Niagara University in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. A three-time MAAC All-Academic member and ITA Scholar-Athlete, he was a member of the Purple Eagles men’s tennis team from 2010-13.
“I am very excited to have Mike on our staff as he brings a lot to the table,” stated head coach Pablo Montana. “He has a proven record of bringing in quality players and developing them. His playing and coaching experience will give us a nice boost within the CAA.”
