A rare four-sport standout during his career at the University of Delaware, Irvin "Ace" Taylor was the Blue Hens' first ever Outstanding Senior Male Athlete award winner in 1929-30.
An end in football, Taylor served as team captain in 1929 was named to Delaware's All-Time Football Team in 1989.
While at Delaware 1926-1930, Ace won three letters in both football and basketball, three in baseball, and one in soccer.
Ace was inducted into the Delaware Sports Museum & Hall of Fame in 1996. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 96.
