Women’s Track & Field (1993-97)
One of the top female distance runners in University of Delaware history, Sarah captured five conference titles and was named team Most Valuable Player four times in a career that spanned from 1994 until 1997.
The Chatham, Mass. native earned 10 letters in her career, including four in outdoor track and three each in indoor track and cross country, and served as team co-captain four times, including twice for the cross country squad under head coach Sue McGrath-Powell.
She is the only women’s cross country runner in school history to win the conference meet twice, capturing the American East individual title in both 1996 and 1997, and also added conference track titles in the indoor mile in 1996 (North Atlantic Conference), the outdoor 3,000 meters in 1996 (NAC), and outdoor 5,000 meters in 1997 (America East). She held four school records upon graduation, owning UD standards in the indoor 800 and 1,500 meter runs and in the outdoor 800 and 3,000 meter events.
She earned her degree in fitness management from Delaware in 1997 and her master’s degree in education from Chapman University.
