University of Delaware Men's and Women's Tennis Teams to Compete in Nine Tournaments During 2012 Fall Season

Now at the helm of her 21st season as the Delaware head coach, Travis led the Blue Hen women to an 11-6 dual record and the men to an 8-9 mark last season as both Delaware squads advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association quarterfinals for the 12th straight year.
The Blue Hen men will kick off fall action at the Navy Invitational (Sept. 7-9), while the women begin that same weekend at the Towson Tournament in Maryland (Sept. 7-9).
From there, the men will compete at the Saint Joseph's Tournament (Sept. 21-23) before hosting their own match against CAA foe Drexel on Sept. 29. The Blue Hens knocked out Drexel 4-1 in the first round of the CAA championships last season.
The women continue play at the Cissie Learly Tournament at University of Pennsylvania (Sept. 21-23) and the Saint Joseph's Tournament (Sept. 28-30), before joining the men for the final three tournaments of the fall season.
Both squads will head to Virginia for the Hampton Roads Tournament at Old Dominon (Oct. 5-7), and the Sea Colony Tournament at Bethany Beach, Del. (Oct. 12-14). The Delaware netters will commence the season with the ITA regionals (Oct. 17-21) at a site yet to be determined.
Travis welcomes back seven letterwinners on the men's side, led by third team All-CAA selections Adam Lawton (top right), who went 17-9 in singles play last season, and Troy Beneck, who put up a 16-13 singles record. The duo also combined for a 17-8 doubles record to lead the Blue Hens.
