Lawton Leads Delaware at Penn Invite as Three Blue Hens Finish Weekend WithWinning Records

In addition to Lawton, Evan Andrews, Troy Beneck and Ryan Kent each finished the weekend with winning records. The doubles team of Beneck and Lawton also ended play with a 2-1 winning mark.
Lawton captured the Levy Flight with wins over Binghamton's Ruben Haggai, Princeton's Michael Lin, Buffalo's Ivan Veresch and host Penn's Vim De Alwiss.
Beneck advanced to the semifinals in the Quaker Flight as he defeated Blaine Willenborg of Penn and Mitchell Petersen from Lehigh before falling to Brown's Dan Hirschberg.
Kent also advanced to the semis in his flight, the Blue Flight, with wins over Kevin Pijper (St. Francis Pa.) and Paul Stauskas (Drexel). Kent then fell in three sets to St. Joseph's Dan Barrus.
On the doubles' side, Beneck and Lawton opened play with commanding wins over Princeton and Norfolk State before a loss to Brown in the quarterfinals.
The Blue Hens continue fall play as they travel next weekend to the Hampton Roads Tournament, hosted by Old Dominion.
