Soren, a senior from Roslyn, N.Y., allowed just four hits over seven scoreless innings in Delaware's 16-1 victory over George Mason on Sunday that completed a three-game sweep of the Patriots and extended UD's winning streak to 12 games. The right-hander surrendered four hits with two walks and had six strikeouts.
For the season, Soren is 2-1 with a team-leading 1.69 earned-run average and is tied for second on the squad with 40 strikeouts in 42.2 innings pitched.
Joining Soren as CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week is UNCW's Christian McDonald. Old Dominion's Ben Verlander was named the conference's Player of the Week while Georgia State's Matt Rose was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
Soren is the second Blue Hen ballplayer to garner a CAA weekly honors this spring as junior first baseman Jimmy Yezzo was named Co-Player of the Week on March 25.
The Blue Hens (22-8, 9-3 CAA) will look for their 13th straight win when Delaware returns to action in a non-conference mid-week road game at UMBC on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at UMBC's Baseball Factory Field.
