Scott Grzenda. “The girls continued to work hard for each other and continued to create chances and we end up with a tie. It gets a little frustrating. I think our job right now is to get the girls focused for the next game and continue to create chances and sooner or later someone is going to step up and put it away."The Hens jumped out to a 1-0 lead 25:30 into the game when Seltzer, who had entered the contest as a substitute just 28 seconds earlier, scored from 20 yards out on the right side with the goalie out of the box. The goal was the first career score for Seltzer, who was playing her 42nd career game.
Delaware took the 1-0 lead at halftime and continued to dominate possession before Towson knotted the score at 1-1 when Vasthy Delgado lofted a shot from 20 yards out over the outstretched arms of UD goalkeeper Kelsey O'Donnell and into the back of the net with 24:13 left to play. The Blue Hens continued to get good looks in the two 10-minute overtime periods but could not convert.
"We have great seniors, so I think they'll make sure the kids are ready to go,” said Grzenda of the team's next outing Friday at home vs. Drexel. “Our team, we pride ourselves on working for each other all season, so they won't let that kind of stuff happen."
