RICHMOND, Va. – After recording his first career complete game Sunday vs. Hofstra, redshirt freshman Ron Marinaccio was named Colonial Athletic Association Baseball itcher of the Week Monday.
Marinaccio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) earned his second win of the season in Delaware's 14-1 win over Hofstra Sunday. The righty allowed only one run on four hits and struck out five in the winning effort.
This is the second week in a row that a Blue Hen pitcher received CAA Pitcher of the Week honors as Adam Davis won the award last week.
Carl Wise of Charleston and Gavin Stupienski of UNCW split Player of the Week honors while UNCW's Whitman Barnes was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
Delaware (9-5, 2-1 CAA) will return to action Tuesday as the Hens host La Salle in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic at 3 p.m. at Bob Hannah Stadium.
