Two Blue Hen Relay Teams to Compete at Penn Relays Thursday

PHILADELPHIA -- Two University of Delaware women's outdoor track & field relay teams will be competing at one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious events Thursday as the Blue Hens take part at the 121st annual Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field.
Delaware's 4 x 100 meter relay team of Latazah Coleman, Tyler Jackson, Paige Thompson-Charles, and Amira Idris will take part in their heat at 1:10 p.m. while the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Breanna Nicholson, Carolyn Darr, Michele Simmons, and Toresha Foster will be in action at 6:25 p.m.
In the 4 x 100 meter relay, the nine fastest times from all the heats will advance to the Championship Invitational on Friday at 1 p.m., the next eight fastest times will advance to the College Finals Friday at 1:05 p.m., and the next eight fastest ECAC teams will qualify for the ECAC Final at 1:07 p.m. A total of 125 teams are entered in the event.
In the 4 x 400 meter relay, the nine fastest times will qualify for the Championship Invitational Saturday at 5:50 p.m., the next eight fastest times will qualify for the College Final Saturday at 5:35 p.m., and the next eight fastest ECAC teams will qualify for the ECAC Final at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. A total of 12 teams are entered in that event.
