LAST TIME OUT 🏀
The Blue Hens saw another career day from Makeda Nicholas while Courtni Green continued to move up in the career record books Sunday afternoon as Delaware outlasted Towson, 69-64, in overtime at the Bob Carpenter Center. A week after pulling down 15 boards against Northeastern, Nicholas logged a career-best 17 rebounds versus the Tigers in addition to tying a career-high with 17 points. The forward added three blocked shots and two assists in 38 minutes. Green led the Hens (9-7, 4-1 CAA) with her third-career 20-point game with four 3-pointers and a season-best six rebounds. The guard is now third in program history with 158 treys and nearing the 1,000-point plateau with 991 career tallies. Nicole Enabosi registered 13 points and eight rebounds while Erika Brown came off the bench due to an ankle injury and recorded 10 points and two assists. The Blue Hens held a 28-23 halftime advantage before Towson (5-11, 2-3 CAA) outscored Delaware, 20-15, in the third quarter. The Tigers were ahead, 56-54, with just under 20 seconds remaining in regulation before Enabosi was able to lay-in the ball from the right side to tie things at 56-56. Enabosi was then able to force a Raven Bankston turnover to send the game into overtime. Nicholas drained her second career 3-pointer before knocking down four free throws to give UD the overtime victory. Raven Bankston led all scorers with 21 points and five rebounds while Raine Bankston notched 15 points and seven rebounds.
