LAST TIME OUT 🏀
Courtni Green drained five 3-pointers for another 20-plus point game Friday evening, but the Blue Hens couldn't execute late in a 54-53 loss to Drexel at the Bob Carpenter Center. Green, whose five treys tied a career record, also became the 25th player in program history to reach the 1,000-career point mark and finished the evening with a game-best 23 points. The guard added two rebounds in 39 minutes of play. With a game-high 17 rebounds, Makeda Nicholas also continued to impress in CAA play, as the sophomore became the first player in program history to register back-to-back games with 17 boards. Erika Brown came off the bench for the third straight game and recorded 14 points, four assists and three rebounds. Drexel (8-9, 4-2 CAA) held the Hens to a season-low five points in the first quarter and led by as much as 11 before Delaware (9-8, 4-2 CAA) proceeded to slowly cut into the lead in the low-scoring affair. A 3-pointer from Green gave the Hens the 38-36 advantage to open the fourth as the two teams would exchange the lead over the next five minutes. Delaware held possession of the ball with 11.8 seconds remaining, but a series of miscues allowed the Dragons to walk away with the 54-53 win. Sarah Curran led Drexel with 21 points and six rebounds while Rachel Pearson notched 10 points and Meghan Creighton logged a team-high seven rebounds and four assists.
