Blue Hens Look to End Skid, Host CAA Rival Towson for Homecoming Tilt Saturday
NEWARK, Del. -- A pair of teams looking to snap five-game losing streaks while still searching for their initial Colonial Athletic Association victories of the season will square off this Saturday when the Blue Hens (2-5, 0-4 CAA) host longtime rival Towson (1-6, 0-4 CAA) as part of Homecoming at Delaware Stadium. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet TV throughout the Delaware Valley region.
Delaware, which fell to #24 Stony Brook by a 28-3 score in its first game under interim head coach Dennis Dottin-Carter Saturday at Delaware Stadium, will be looking to post its first victory since Sept. 10 and snap a personal two-game losing streak to Towson. The Tigers won last year's game by a 19-0 score in Towson, Md. following a 24-17 win at Delaware Stadium in 2014.
Towson, which fell to New Hampshire 21-7 at home on Saturday, has not won since a 35-28 non-league victory over St. Francis (Pa.) back on Sept. 10. The Tigers have lost three games by a touchdown or less this season and have lost five straight road games since late last season.
Delaware enters the game ranked No. 2 in the CAA in team rushing offense (247.0 yards per game) while the Tigers do their damage through the air, averaging 219.0 yards per game to rank No. 2 in the CAA.
