Blue Hens Looking to Ride the Momentum; Head to New York Capital for Saturday Battle with Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Looking to ride the momentum from Saturday's 20-6 Homecoming victory over Towson that gave Delaware its first Colonial Athletic Association victory of the season, the Blue Hens return to action this Saturday as they head to Albany to take on the Great Danes at Bob Ford Field at Casey Stadium at 1 p.m.
Delaware (3-5, 1-4 CAA) snapped a five-game losing streak Saturday as the Blue Hens held Towson to just 208 total yards and forced five turnovers - four by interception - to give interim head coach Dennis Dottin-Carter his first career victory. Thomas Jefferson led the offense with 141 yards rushing and a touchdown, Ryan Torzsa intercepted two passes, and Frank Raggo booted two field goals to lead the effort.
Albany (5-3, 2-3 CAA) remains in the hunt for a postseason playoff berth and will face the Hens this week coming off a big defensive effort of their own in a 27-3 dismantling of Elon this past Saturday. The Great Danes snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory as they allowed just 229 yards vs. the Phoenix.
