LAST TIME OUT 🏀
Crucial mistakes down the stretch hindered the Blue Hens as Delaware fell to Elon, 66-64, in double overtime Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Phoenix (14-8, 7-4 CAA) twice extended the contest with 3-pointers in the final six seconds before Shay Burnett inbounded the ball off a Delaware player and put in the layup from the left side to give Elon the two-point advantage as time expired in the second overtime period. Courtni Green guided the Blue Hens (11-11, 6-5 CAA) with season-bests of 24 points and eight rebounds in 47 minutes of action. The guard was automatic from the charity stripe and knocked down critical free throws in the each of the final three periods played. Nicole Enabosi contributed nine points and four rebounds while Hannah Friend tallied eight points, five rebounds and two blocked shots. Makeda Nicholas led Delaware for the seventh straight game with 11 rebounds. Burnett posted 18 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Phoenix while Jenifer Rhodes collected 10 points and 12 rebounds.
