The Blue Hens closed regular season play last Wednesday in disappointing fashion as Delaware fell to James Madison, 65-43, at the Bob Carpenter Center. With the loss, Delaware fell to 15-14 overall and 10-8 in CAA action while earning the No. 5 seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament. James Madison clinched the top seed with a record of 16-1 in CAA games. JMU jumped out to an early 21-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as the Hens were unable to hold their own on the boards. The Dukes ended the game with a 60-33 rebounding advantage. Courtni Green guided Delaware with 10 points and four rebounds while Sadé Chatman collected nine points and four rebounds. Makeda Nicholas grabbed seven rebounds in addition to four points, one block, one steal and one assist. James Madison had three players finish in double figures and was led by Destiny Jones' 11 points. Kayla Cooper-Williams added a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

· UD opens the CAA Tournament with a quarterfinals appearance against Elon, a team the Hens have never faced in post-season play.
· The Blue Hens are 23-12 all-time in the CAA Tournament and 12-0 in quarterfinals games.
· Delaware has lost two of its last three, including a 62-45 loss at Elon.
· Four Hens earned All-CAA honors including Courtni Green (Second Team), Erika Brown (Third Team), Nicole Enabosi (All-Rookie Team) and Hannah Jardine (All-Academic Team).
· The Phoenix finished the year by winning two of its last three.
· Both UD and EU picked up losses to James Madison in the final two games.

SERIES INFORMATION
· Thursday is just the fifth-ever meeting between Delaware and Elon as the Phoenix completed their first season in the CAA last year.
· Elon is 4-0 all-time against the Hens and pulled out the 66-64 double overtime victory in Newark on February 7 before defeating Delaware, 62-45, on February 26.
· Charlotte Smith (North Carolina '99) is in her fifth year with the Phoenix and is 87-68 all-time. Smith previously served nine seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater. She has also played professionally overseas and in the ABL and WNBA. Smith was recently named an assistant coach for the USA U18 National Team.
