Delaware Posts Nine Top 10 Finishes at Day 2 of Colonial Track & Field Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Led by a third place finish by Kristina Valko in the javelin and ECAC qualifying marks by Ashley Bailey in the pole vault and Tyler Jackson in the 200 meters, the University of Delaware women's outdoor track & field team posted a successful second day at the 51st annual Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary Friday at Zable Stadium.
Delaware pushed its two-day total to 20 points in the team standings and now ranks 11th out of 38 teams. The third and final day of the prestigious meet will begin Saturday morning.
Valko, a sophomore, had Delaware's top finish and one of nine Top 10 showings on Friday as she placed third in the javelin championship with a toss of 125-feet, 2-inches.
Bailey, a freshman, placed fourth in the pole vault championship with an ECAC qualifying height of 12-1.5 and also finished 10th in the long jump with a leap of 17-9.5.
Jackson, a junior, had the Hens' second ECAC qualifying mark as she placed 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.69.
Other top 10 finishes for Delaware included Tyra Reid finishing seventh in the 400 meters (56.16), Rachel Moroknek, Jennifer Hineman, and Nicole Filion tied for ninth in the pole vault with heights of 10-2, and Alex Lipnicky was ninth in the javelin (117-9).
