Delaware Open Track & Field Meet Saturday Canceled Due to Weather Concerns

NEWARK, Del. -- Due to the threat of inclement weather in the area this weekend, University of Delaware Athletics has announced that the Delaware Track & Field Open Meet scheduled for this Saturday, Apr. 9, at 10:30 a.m., at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium has been canceled.
Saturday's forecast in Newark was for temperatures in the low 40s, high winds, and a 90 percent chance of precipitation. There will be no makeup date.
The annual meet was expected to attract over 500 athletes from nearly 40 men's and women's NCAA intercollegiate teams and area club programs.
Delaware will continue action next Saturday, Apr. 16, at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University before returning home to host the annual Delaware Classic on Saturday, Apr. 23, at 9 a.m. at Grant Stadium.
