Unbeaten Blue Hens Step Up a Level, Head to Wake Forest Looking for FBS Upset

Blue Hens Look for First 3-0 Start Since 2012; Step Up to Take on ACC Foe Wake Forest Saturday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Following back-to-back victories over Delaware State and Lafayette the last two weeks, the Blue Hens will be looking to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2012 this Saturday when Delaware steps up a level to take on NCAA FBS foe and Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Wake Forest at 6:30 p.m. at BB&T Field. The game will be aired live on ESPN3.
Both teams enter the game unbeaten at 2-0 as Delaware rallied to win on the road by a 24-6 score at Lafayette Saturday night while the Demon Deacons opened ACC play with a 24-14 victory at Duke. Delaware and Wake will be meeting for just the second time ever and for the first time since way back in 1932.
Dave Brock (Salisbury State '94) - 19-18 (.513) all-time at Delaware and overall (4th season)...11-13 (.458) in CAA play...13-8 (.619) at Delaware Stadium...first meeting vs. Wake Forest as a head coach...22nd head coach in Delaware football history...native of Moorestown, N.J. and a veteran of 24 collegiate seasons as an assistant coach...came to Delaware after serving one season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under then coach Kyle Flood at Rutgers where team posted a 9-4 record, won a share of the Big East title, and advanced to the Russell Athletic Bowl in 2012...also coached at Boston College, Kansas State, North Carolina, Temple, Hofstra, Salisbury State, and Western Connecticut State...played linebacker at Ferrum (Va.) Dave Clawson (Williams '89) - 8-18 (.308) all-time at Wake Forest (3rd season) and 98-97 (.502) overall (17th season)...3-14 (.176) in Atlantic Coast Conference play...2-2 vs. Delaware (while head coach at Richmond)...previously served as head coach at Fordham (29-29 in 1999-2003), Richmond (29-20 in 2004-07), and Bowling Green (32-30 in 2009-13)...led teams to NCAA FCS Tournament at Fordham (2002 quarterfinals) and Richmond (2007 semifinals; 2005 quarterfinals)...led Bowling Green to three bowl games during his tenure...served as offensive coordinator at Tennessee in 2008 and was previously an assistant coach at Albany, Buffalo, Lehigh, and Villanova.

• Wake Forest won the only previous meeting by a 7-0 score on Oct. 29, 1932 at Frazer Field in Newark, Del. The Demon Deacons won thanks to a second quarter touchdown and late fourth quarter goal ine stand. Delaware went 5-4 that season under head coach Charles Rogers.
