PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Blue Hens opened the Colonial Athletic Association portion of their schedule Friday afternoon with a 74-53 loss to Drexel at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

Sophomore Samone DeFreese added 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists of her own.
Delaware (7-5, 0-1 CAA) was hindered by 20 turnovers while shooting just 13.3 percent (2-of-15) from behind the 3-point arc.
The Dragons (9-4, 1-0 CAA), who led by as much as 23 in the third quarter, saw three players with double figure scoring efforts. Kelsi Lidge posted 16 points and five steals for Drexel while Bailey Greenberg notched 14 points and Aubree Brown tallied 10.
POST-GAME QUOTES
Natasha Adair
“Drexel set the tone early and was very aggressive and active defensively. We didn't play Delaware basketball today. We will become a better team because of this and we have a lot of basketball left to play. There were different levels to this game and against an opponent like Drexel, the room for error is very small. This was a tough one for sure.”
Sophomore Abby Gonzales
“They're a solid team that works together very well. A big thing for us is discipline. A few of us got in trouble with fouls, but when it comes down to it, you need to make defensive stops. When you get those stops, it leads to offensive possessions and we need to convert off their mistakes.”
