University of Delaware Catcher Nick Tierno Honored by D1Baseball.com

NEWARK, Del.-- University of Delaware senior Nick Tierno (Voorhees, N.J./Rowan College JC) was selected one of the top 50 catchers in the nation at the NCAA Division I level, by D1Baseball.com.
Slotting in at number 47, Tierno was the second highest selection among Colonial Athletic Association catchers.
Jim ShermanComing off a season where he batted .340 with 1 home run and 35 RBIs, Tierno was named second team All-Colonial Athletic Association last year.
Overall, Tierno is one eight returning starters to the 2017 Delaware baseball squad, which was projected to finish fourth in the CAA this season by the league coaches, and had four All-CAA honorees.
The Blue Hens open the season against Pittsburgh on Friday, in Kissimmee, Fla. First pitch is slated for 3:30 P.M.
