University of Delaware Ace Brandon Walter Honored by D1Baseball.com

NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware sophomore Brandon Walter, (New Castle, Del./Hodgson-Vo Tech) was selected one of the top 200 starting pitchers in the nation at the NCAA Division I level, by D1Baseball.com.
Slotting in at number 192, Walter is the third D1 Baseball honoree for the Blue Hens during the past week.
Jim ShermanLast season the left-hander was the top pitcher on the UD staff, and one of the best pitchers in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Overall, Walter led last year's squad in wins (7), strikeouts (85), innings pitched (89.1) and was second in ERA (3.63). His performance on the mound earned him third team All-CAA honors, a spot on the CAA All-Rookie team, a selection to the CBM/Louisville Slugger All-Freshman team and he was voted the UD Pitcher of the year.
Earlier this month, Walter was named to the Preseason All-CAA team.
The Blue Hens open the season against Pittsburgh on Friday, in Kissimmee, Fla. First pitch is slated for 3:30 P.M.
