HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
- RANKED RARITY: Thursday's matchup with No. 11 Georgetown was just the 10th matchup versus a ranked opponent in the programs 28-year history. The Blue Hens are 0-9-1 in the 10 all-time matchups against ranked teams, after Thursdays 1-0 loss.. The Blue Hens had last faced a ranked opponent back in 2015, dropping a 6-1 decision at No. 2 Virginia. Thursday night was the first home match versus a ranked opponent since Sep. 26, 2006 when Delaware faced No. 18 William & Mary. The Hoyas were the highest ranked opponent to visit Newark since 2000 when UD faced off with No. 8 Hartford.
- REKOS MAKING HER MARK: Blue Hens goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos is climbing the all-time UD record book, as the redshirt senior is now top-five all-time in games played (45), games started (45), career minutes played (4,124), and all-time saves (216). Rekos is just 10 starts/games played away for the second most as a goalie in program history, and is 146 minutes away from the third most all-time minutes played. Her next victory will be her 16th career victory, and will tie her for fifth most all-time.
- DEFENSE CAME TO PLAY: On Thursday, Delaware held the potent Georgetown offense to just 13 shots and one goal. Georgetown had erupted for 25 shots and four goals last Sunday against George Washington.
- SOARING HIGH: The Hawks enter Sunday with a perfect 2-0 record, having defeated Bucknell 3-2 and Temple 2-0. Much like the Blue Hens, Saint Joseph's season opener was canceled. The Hawks are also playing their third game in a week.
