TULSA, Okla. – Delaware men's tennis continues to raise the bar as freshmen Luis Molina and James Wilkinson became the first-ever Blue Hens to compete at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championship this weekend, held by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
In the Prequalifying singles portion of the tournament, Molina fought back to force three sets in both matches played, but was unable to claim victory. In Saturday's Round of 256 match against California's Bjorn Hoffmann, Molina fell, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. In Sunday's consolation bracket, Eric Olivares, Jr. (Western Michigan) topped Molina, 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.
Wilkinson also battled California's Paul Barretto in the Round of 256, but came out with the 6-1, 6-0 loss Saturday. Wilkinson did not compete in the consolation bracket due to injury.
