Complete Team Effort Pushes Hens Past Gardner-Webb, 69-45

NEWARK, Del. – A nine-day break was just was the Blue Hens needed as Delaware returned to the court and snapped a three-game losing streak by topping Gardner-Webb, 69-45, at the Bob Carpenter Center Tuesday evening.
The Hens (4-6) led for the majority of the game and took control of the game by posting a 22-2 run midway through the first half.
Junior Bailey Kargo led the Hens with a season-best 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
Redshirt senior Alison Lewis, who earned her second straight start for UD, collected career-highs of 17 points and four assists to go along with a season-best eight rebounds.
Defensively, graduate student Makeda Nicholas tallied a season-high 11 rebounds while junior Rebecca Lawrence posted six rebounds and tied a career-high with five blocked shots.
