Tire Flips

TIRE FLIPS
Compete for the chance to be named "Top Hen". Top scores will be posted throughout the week on the whiteboard in the fitness center and on the @UDLilBob social media. Winner names and pictures will be announced on social media the following week and prizes will be awarded.
All participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a fitness service package!
How to Enter: Just tell a fitness staff member you want to participate anytime the Lil Bob is open, Monday-Friday.
Rules
- The competition will run from April 16th – 27th
- Participants can compete anytime during the day, Monday through Friday.
- Participants must have a UD Fitness staff member weigh them in before they attempt the tire flip.
- For the weigh-in, participants must take off their shoes.
- The participant will have 30 seconds to flip the tire as many times as possible.
- The staff member will count completed flips aloud, and announce “No Rep” for any flip that does not follow the rules.
- The staff member will say “STOP” when the time (30 seconds) is finished.
- Top scores will be posted throughout the week.
- The individuals who can complete the most tire flips in 30 seconds for his/her weight class will be the winners.
- There are 7 weight class categories for both males and females.
- Winners will be announced the following week and prizes will be awarded.
Official Rules:
- The participant will start in a standing position, with the tire completely flat on the ground.
- The staff member will say “GO” and begin the 30-second countdown.
- The participant will have 30-seconds to flip the tire as many times as possible.
- The participant must flip the tire on one side, then go to the opposite side of the tire and flip it back to the ground.
- Participants may not flip the tire on the same side twice in a row.
- The tire must make contact with the ground before being flipped again.
- The staff member will count completed flips aloud, and announce “No Rep” for any flip that does not follow the rules.
- The staff member will say “STOP” when the time (30 seconds) is finished.
- The last counted rep is the last time the tire completely hit the ground. If the tire is still partially in the air when the time is up, the rep will not count.
Causes for Disqualification of the 1-mile run:
- Starting with the tire lifted off the ground before instructed to begin.
- Pushing the tire to the ground.
- Flipping the tire twice on one side, ie not going to the other side and flipping it back.
- Flipping or catching the tire before it has made contact with the ground.
- Not going to the other side of the tire after each flip.
