Delaware Picks up First Win by Topping Mount St. Mary’s, 7-0

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Blue Hens collected their first win of the season Monday afternoon as Delaware defeated Mount St. Mary's, 7-0, at the brand-new Delcastle Tennis Center.
In doubles play, freshman Emily Gotkiewicz and sophomore Sarah Whited cruised to the 6-0 No. 2 victory while senior Draga Sabotic and freshman Viva Laas paired for the 6-2 No. 3 clinching win.
On the singles side, freshman Caragh Courtney led off with the 7-5, 6-0 decision over Hannah Davis in the second flight.
In No. 3 singles, senior Sarah Hall logged her 50th career win by topping Megan Smith, 6-2, 7-6 (3).
Laas clinched the team win in top flight play by coming from behind for the 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory against Alexa Quintinilla.
In the fourth flight, Whited picked up the 6-1, 6-3 win versus Taylor Cook while Gotkiewicz gathered the 6-3, 6-1 victory over Mia Pittman in the fifth flight. Sabotic concluded action by topping Emma Blake, 6-0, 6-0, in the sixth slot.
