Askarova Continues to Roll at Martha Thorn Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Eliza Askarova continues the hot start to her collegiate career as the Blue Hens finished the second day of the Martha Thorn Invitational, hosted by West Virginia University.
Askarova led Delaware with one singles win and two doubles wins as the Blue Hens collected four total victories.
The Philadelphia, Pa. native collected her fourth straight win, and her team-leading seventh of the year, with her 7-6 (5), 6-3 decision over George Washington's Katarina Marinkovikj.
Delaware also received a singles victory from sophomore Caragh Courtney who defeated GW's Melis Bayraktaroglu, 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles action, Askarova paired with junior Sarah Whited for a 6-2 win over Ball State and a 6-4 triumph against George Washington.
