ORLANDO, Fla. – The struggles continued for the Blue Hens as UCF topped Delaware, 75-49, Sunday afternoon at Addition Financial Arena.
Turnovers were rampant for both teams with the Hens committing 25 miscues to UCF's 22.
Senior Samone DeFreese led UD with 14 points to go along with six rebounds and two assists while sophomore Jasmine Dickey added 10 points and 10 rebounds for her second double double of the year.
POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Natasha Adair
"We knew coming in that this was going to be a tough UCF team to beat on the road. Coach "Abe" has done a great job with her program. We knew it was going to come down to turnovers and possessions and that was the biggest thing that we wanted to lessen a bit because that fuels them. They turn turnovers into points. There were some key stops that we got but we didn't execute into those possessions. I thought there was a lot of fight and resiliency with our group today. You could see momentum building at points and there's no quit in this team. We have to capitalize on those moments when you're building a run. There are no excuses to be made as there are things we have to continue to do and grow as a team."
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
· Friday, November 29 – Delaware at Cal State Fullerton – 9 p.m. – Titan Gym (Fullerton, Calif.)
· Saturday, November 30 – Delaware vs. Santa Clara – 5:30 p.m. – Titan Gym (Fullerton, Calif.)
· Wednesday, December 4 – George Washington at Delaware – 7 p.m. – Bob Carpenter Center (Newark, Del.)
