Delaware Wins Seventh Straight With Exciting 4-3 Victory Over Towson

NEWARK, Del. – The Blue Hens captured their first CAA victory of the season Wednesday afternoon in thrilling fashion as Delaware topped Towson, 4-3, at the Delaware Field House Outdoor Courts.
Trailing by 3-2, the Hens used back-to-back come-from-behind three-set victories from freshman Caragh Courtney and senior Sarah Hall to clinch the match.
Delaware opened the day by winning the team doubles point with victories coming in the second and third flights.
In singles play, five of the day's six matches advanced to three sets while UD fell in the first set in five of the matches.
The Blue Hens took the 2-1 advantage as sophomore Sarah Whited defeated Lucy Gloninger, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, in No. 6 singles.
The Tigers followed with wins in the fifth and fourth flights before Delaware rallied.
Courtney posted the 4-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-2 victory over Yevgeniya Shusterman in the fifth slot while Hall collected the 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-4 win against Amelia Lawson on the third court.
