Blue Hens Complete Play at Christopher Newport Invitational

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Despite a rain-shortened event, Delaware wrapped season-opening action Sunday at the Christopher Newport Invitational.
The Blue Hens were able to complete four doubles matches while singles play was cut short.
In Group B action, seniors Luis Marcano and Dominick Perez posted the 8-3 victory over CNU's Matthew Dubuque and Bently Goodwin before falling to CNU's James Baron and Dominick Lacombe, 8-5, in the championship final.
In Group A, seniors Justice Jones and Milo Nagle battled in two hard-fought matches, but eventually fell to pairs from North Carolina Wesleyan and Hampton.

"This was a great tournament for us to start the fall season. Our guys played nearly 20 matches over the course of the weekend and they were mentally and physically challenged. I definitely saw some good things from our guys, and we will continue working hard this fall to improve our overall game."
