One of the most successful years in recent history for the University of Delaware Athletic Department came to a virtual close on Friday afternoon with the showing of the 2019-2020 "Hennies" presented by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.Â
All teams gathered throughout the day to watch the show together to hear the announcement of Team MVPs, Team Sportsmanship Awards, Academic and Chuck Hall Strength & Conditioning awards and the department's four major awards: Most Outstanding Male Athlete, Most Outstanding Female Athlete, the Edgar Johnson and the Mary Ann Hitchens Award.
Six different teams were represented amongst the six top awards:
Chuck Hall Strength & Conditioning Awards: Matt DeLuca (Men's Lacrosse) & Andie Hanus (Volleyball)
Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year: Michaela Meyer, Track & Field
Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year: Nate Darling, Men's Basketball
Edgar Johnson Award: Cam Kitchen, Football
Mary Ann Hitchens Award: Dani Kabat, Women's Soccer
