RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association announced Monday that for the second straight week, Delaware junior guard Jasmine Dickey is the CAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Dickey averaged a dominant line of 27.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists across a two-game sweep at Hofstra. In Saturday's 76-55 win over the Pride, she poured in a career-high 37 points, knocking down 15 of her 26 field goal attempts, also a career high. Dickey drained three of her six shots from 3-point range, matching her career total for threes entering the game. She also grabbed 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
The Baltimore native racked up 18 points, eight rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists in Sunday's 65-46 win in Hempstead, N.Y. Dickey has scored in double figures in 12 straight games, including all 10 this season. She has also recorded three 30-point and seven 20-point games this season.
This is the third Player of the Week award this year for Dickey (Dec. 14, Jan. 11) and fourth overall for the Blue Hens (Paris McBride, Dec. 7).
After sweeping three straight CAA series, Delaware sits atop the CAA standings with a 6-0 mark in conference play. The Blue Hens are the only CAA team to win every conference game they've played this year.
Delaware returns to action this weekend with a two-game set against UNCW. The Blue Hens host the Seahawks at the Bob Carpenter Center at 1 p.m. on both Jan. 23 and 24.
