Dickey Named #CAAHoops Player of the Week

RICHMOND, VA. – After pouring in 94 points over three games played in seven days for the Blue Hens, University of Delaware women's basketball senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week, announced by league officials Monday afternoon.
Dickey averaged 31.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 49.3 percent (37-of-75) from the field, 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from three-point territory and 78.9 percent (15-of-19) from the free-throw line in Delaware's undefeated week (3-0). Dickey opened the week with a season-high 32 points (15-25 FG), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in Delaware's 83-60 road victory over Maine (Nov. 15). She then scored 31 points (2-4 3FG, 9-10 FT) and pulled down 10 rebounds to post her second double-double on the season to lead the Blue Hens to a 79-48 road win and capture the Route 1 Rivalry trophy over Delaware State (Nov. 19). Dickey added four assists and a block to her stat line. She closed out the week with another 31-point (12-27 FG, 2-4 3FG) performance to go with six rebounds, an assist and a steal in Delaware's 73-57 home win against Charlotte (Nov. 21).
On the season, the Baltimore, Md. native is averaging 25.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 42.9 percent (48-of-112) from the field, 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from beyond the arc and 81.8 percent (27-of-33) from the charity stripe. Dickey leads the conference in points per game and total points (129) while ranking among the league leaders in total rebounds (2nd, 50), offensive rebounds (2nd, 19), offensive rebounds per game (t-3rd, 4.3), steals (3rd, 10), steals per game (t-4th), blocks (t-4th, 5), blocks per game (t-5th), free-throw percentage (t-5th), rebounds per game (6th), minutes per game (8th, 33.6) and field goal percentage (T-9th). Dickey leads the nation in field goal attempts while ranking among the NCAA Division I leaders in final points (3rd, 129), points per game (3rd), field goals made (4th), free-throws made (4th) and free-throw attempts (7th).

Dickey and the Blue Hens will pack their bags and head south to Miami, Fla. for the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament running from Friday, Nov. 26 to Saturday, Nov. 27. The Blue Hens will open the tournament Friday and face Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. inside Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
