A Trio of Blue Hens Earn CAA Honors

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware's Lauren Krinsky, Olivia Schuck, and Sydni Wright collected 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer postseason accolades, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
"I'm so thrilled for Lauren, Liv, and Syd on an amazing accomplishment," said head coach Mike Barroqueiro. "Lauren has been the heartbeat of this team for a long time. Someone with a great career here and a long career ahead of her, I couldn't be more excited for her!"
Krinsky, a native of East Brunswick, N.J., was named to the All-CAA Second Team as a goalkeeper. It's the second straight season Krinsky has earned all-conference accolades, as she picked up third-team honors in the spring. The senior started and appeared in 17 matches for the Blue Hens this season. She ranked second in league play in saves per game at 5.13, tallying 41 total saves in CAA-only matches. Krinsky finished the fall with 64 saves across all matches.
"Liv is Delaware soccer. She took us from our worst to our best and always gave us her all," said Barroqueiro. "As the history of UD soccer is written, Liv will forever be one of the best to have ever worn the jersey."
Schuck, a three-time All-CAA honoree, co-captain, and midfielder for Delaware, wraps up her Blue Hen career by earning all-conference third team accolades. Second on the team in minutes played with 1,581, Schuck started every match she appeared in. The playmaker shifted her opponents' game plan and kept them on their toes often, as she had a strong presence on the field with and without the ball. Schuck found the back of the net with a goal at UNCW. The Medford Lakes, N.J. earned third-team honors in 2019 and first-team honors in 2020. She was also named the 2020 CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
"Whereas Liv is our legacy, Sydni Wright is our future," Barroqueiro expressed. "A competitor at the highest level and an amazing talent, this is just the beginning for this special young lady!"
One of three freshmen to earn a start this season for Delaware, Wright started 14 of 18 matches in her first season. An offensive and defensive threat for the Blue Hens, Wright shined all season long, as she registered one goal and two assists in 2021. The Bear, Del. native ranked sixth on the team in minutes played with 1,309. The honor makes Wright the 12th Blue Hen voted to the CAA All-Rookie team since its inception in 2004.
"As with everything, the accomplishments are both a reflection of the individuals as well as the group," Barroqueiro said. "I'm so proud of what we are building and so proud of each of these young ladies!"
