Pawlowski Brings Home CAA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware football team's defensive unit has been dominant through the first two weeks of the season and the conference has taken notice as senior Andrew Pawlowski has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.

Pawlowski had a career-high and game-high nine tackles in the Blue Hens' 31-3 victory over Stony Brook this past weekend, including a tackle for loss. He has helped anchor the Delaware defense, who has yet to allow a touchdown through the first two games of the season, something the Blue Hens have not done since 2010.

The Huntingtown, Maryland native has helped the Delaware defense rank first nationally in scoring defense, allowing 1.5 points per game, and fifth in total defense, surrendering just 192.0 yards per game.

Delaware faces its first road test of the spring season Saturday when it travels to New Hampshire for a noon kickoff at Wildcat Stadium.
