Delaware Sports Properties & Delaware Division of Small Business Launch Flock Local

This past year, COVID-19 has impacted the world as well as our local community. Delaware small businesses have faced a difficult year, too, so the Delaware Division of Small Business (DSB) and Delaware Sports Properties have teamed up to launch Flock Local.
Flock Local is an opportunity to connect three local businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19 to the loyal Blue Hen fans through a free University of Delaware Athletics & Recreation sponsorship.
This customizable sponsorship package, valued at $15,000, will utilize the power and reach of the University of Delaware Blue Hen brand to help accomplish the marketing goals and objectives of each business. Using a holistic marketing approach, Delaware Sports Properties will create a package to run August 2021 to May 2022 that caters specifically to each winner. This package may include UD Athletic Facility branding, digital and social support, tickets and parking, as well as on-site activation.

"DSB has been constantly looking for powerful ways to support companies working to overcome the significant challenges created by the pandemic. Initiatives like Flock Local have used the power and fun of sports to lift up many businesses, and we look forward to this program helping Delaware small businesses."
To assist small businesses statewide affected by COVID-19, the Division of Small Business has rolled out multiple efforts over the past year. Those include HELP and DE Relief Grants, which have provided a financial lifeline to thousands of small businesses, and the COVID-19 Customer Protection Standards, which promotes the economic benefits of following health and safety protocols.
