Lee Named CAA Special Teams Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Redshirt senior Dejoun Lee has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week after taking the Blue Hens' season-opening kickoff back for a touchdown to begin the 2021 spring season.
After 469 days of waiting, Lee only needed 13 seconds to give the University of Delaware football team its first lead, going 87 yards to the end zone.
It was the first time Delaware had a season-opening kickoff return since 1933 when Allen Kemske lateralled to Joe Green who took it in from 85 yards against the University of Baltimore.
Lee also scored on the ground and had 85 yards on 14 carries for 177 all-purpose yards in the Blue Hens' 37-0 beating of Maine to open the 2021 spring season.
Delaware gets back to action Saturday, hosting Stony Brook inside Delaware Stadium for a CAA North matchup at noon.
