NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program jumped up a spot to No. 7 in both the STATS FCS Top-25 Poll and the AFCA FCS Coaches' Top-25 after a Route 1 Rivalry victory last weekend.
The latest rankings set up a top-10 matchup Saturday in the Battle of the Blue that will decide the CAA North division champion, with Villanova checking in at No. 10 in the STATS poll.
The Blue Hens earned three CAA Weekly awards following the 34-14 victory on national television at Delaware State. Redshirt senior Dejoun Lee rushed for 109 yards on 14 carries with two scores for his second Offensive Player of the Week nod and third total weekly honor this season.
Redshirt sophomore Noah Plack was everywhere against the Hornets, recording nine tackles to earn Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore Ryan Coe was 2-for-2 on field goal tries to win Special Teams honors.
Delaware ranks third in the FCS in both scoring and total defense, while the offense has controlled games, ranking third nationally in time of possession.
Saturday's contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Villanova Stadium and can be seen on FloFootball.
