Blue Hen Women’s Golfers Finish Third at CAA Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Delaware women's golf team fired its lowest round of the tournament with a 298 on Tuesday as the Blue Hens finished in third place at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
Delaware finished third out of seven squads with a 916 three-round total, placing among the top three teams at the CAA Championship for the seventh consecutive year.
James Madison captured the league title with an 897 score, followed by Charleston at 902 and the Blue Hens.
UD freshman Oihana Etxezarreta carded a two over par 74 during her final round on the par 72, 6,050-yard East Course at Grandover Resort, finishing in ninth place among individuals with a 12 over par 75-79-74-228.
Christina Carroll tied for 11th place by finishing with a 14 over par 78-74-78-230 at the tournament. Anna Kittelson fired four birdies and posted the lowest round of the day by a Blue Hen with a 74 on Tuesday, tying for 13th place with a 16 over par 80-79-73-232. Liz Coffren also tied for 13th place by carding a 16 over par 81-77-74-232.
Lexi Dart, who recorded an eagle on the 13th hole on Tuesday, tied for 15th place with a 17 over par 83-74-77-233.
Kendall Turner of JMU was the tournament medalist and posted a one-shot victory by finishing at four over par.
The CAA Championship concludes the 2021 spring season for the Blue Hens, who ended the year with three straight top-three finishes including the team title at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
