Blue Hens Ranked Fifth in Final Regular-Season Polls

NEWARK, Del. – After winning the CAA Title, the University of Delaware football program closed out the regular season at No. 5 in both the FCS Stats Perform Top-25 and the AFCA Coaches' Top-25.

The Blue Hens defeated Villanova 27-20 Saturday and host Sacred Heart in the opening round of the FCS Playoffs Saturday night at 7 p.m. inside Delaware Stadium.

On Monday, head coach Danny Rocco was announced as a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award and redshirt senior Dejoun Lee is a finalist for the Walter Payton Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Delaware is making its second appearance in three seasons in the FCS Playoffs and first home playoff game since 2010.
