Duffhuis Tabbed CAA Rookie of the Year, Five Blue Hens Named to All-CAA Teams

RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced Field Hockey year-end awards on Thursday morning.
Delaware's Julia Duffhuis was tabbed the 2020 CAA Rookie of the Year. Duffhuis led the Blue Hens with four goals in her freshman campaign while ranking second on the team with eight points. She also ranked third in the CAA in goals per game (0.57) and scored a goal in three straight contests to end the regular season. Duffhuis joins Esmee Peet and Lotte de Koning as the third Blue Hen in program history to receive CAA Rookie of the Year Accolades. In addition to her Rookie of the Year award, Duffhuis was also the sole Blue Hen named to the All-CAA Second Team and All-CAA Rookie Team.
Delaware had three student-athletes selected to the All-CAA First Team with Ashlyn Carr, Emily Kresho and Femke Strien.
This is Strien's second year on the All-CAA First Team after scoring two goals and three assists for the Blue Hens this spring.
Kresho has also been featured on the both the First and Second teams during her time as a Blue Hen, this year she tallied three assists for Delaware.
Carr was named to the All-CAA Rookie and Second Team during her freshman campaign, this spring she leads the team in points with two goals and six assists for the Blue Hens.
Delaware's Berber Bakermans joined Duffhuis on the All-CAA Rookie Team. Bakermans has started all seven games of her freshman season and has one goal and four assists under her belt.
