Delaware Falls in Road CAA Tilt to Towson

TOWSON, Md. – The Delaware women's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Towson in a CAA road tilt on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (2-3-2, 1-2 CAA) scored early in the contest and were able to keep the Blue Hens (2-4, 0-3 CAA) off the board for the remainder of play.
Towson outshot Delaware, 20-8, with 10 of the strikes being put on goal. Lauren Krinsky did her best in between the pipes for the Blue Hens, making nine saves and limiting the Tigers to a single score.
In the 19th minute, the Tigers intercepted a Blue Hens' pass and Nia Christopher dribbled past a Delaware defender before putting the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to give her team the 1-0 advantage.

The Tigers had a pair of opportunities to tack on an insurance goal in the 61st and 62nd minutes, but Krinsky denied both Towson shots to keep the deficit at one.
Delaware generated a scoring chance in the 89th minute, but the Anna Diffendal strike was stopped by the Towson goalkeeper and the Tigers secured the home victory.
The Blue Hens will return to play on Saturday when they host Drexel for a 1 p.m. CAA tilt to wrap up the 2021 regular season.
