DE 529 Education Savings Plan to Sponsor Route 1 Rivalry

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware Athletics has announced that Delaware 529 Education Savings Plan is the exclusive sponsor of this Saturday's Route 1 Rivalry football contest between the University of Delaware Blue Hens and the Delaware State University Hornets.
The teams will compete April 10 at Delaware State's Alumni Stadium for the first time in the history of the series, which began with a meeting in the NCAA playoffs in 2007. This Saturday's contest will also be televised nationwide on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.
State treasurer Colleen Davis says the Delaware 529 Education Savings Plan is honored to sponsor the game to help inform and support students and their families in their goal of saving for college. "Saving for college is extremely important as DSU and UD students and their families are well aware," Davis said. "The tax advantages of a DE529 education savings account are designed to help families save for education expenses and reduce the possibilities of school-related debt."
