NEWARK, Del. – Delaware head women's basketball coach Natasha Adair has announced the promotion of Mykala Walker, who has added recruiting coordinator to her title this offseason.
"Mykala's ability to identify talent, foster strong relationships and promote our women's basketball culture to future Blue Hens is invaluable to our continued success," praised Adair. "Mykala was a fearless competitor and is fully aware of what it takes to excel academically and athletically at the highest level."
"I am extremely grateful that Coach Adair trusts me to take on more responsibilities as the Recruiting Coordinator," said Walker. "I am very passionate about sharing the benefits of playing for the University of Delaware and our Blue Hens women's basketball program. My prior experiences as an assistant coach, collegiate student-athlete, and working in sales for the Atlanta Hawks have prepared me to take on this awesome new opportunity. I'm looking forward to engaging athletes and their families in rich discussions about joining the Blue Hens' family."
When Walker was added to the Blue Hen staff in 2017 after various roles at Georgetown, Adair described her as, "a young star in this profession who prides herself on work and winning." Walker's passion for basketball and an eye for talent has led to her becoming a great asset for the Blue Hens.
"I'm confident in Mykala's ability to lead our recruiting efforts as she will engage and attract the next level of elite student-athletes here at the University of Delaware," said Adair.
With Walker's promotion and the addition of Darrell Mosley to the Blue Hens staff in mid-May, the women's basketball program is full of game-changers ready to find the next wave of Blue Hens.
Delaware enters the 2021-22 season as the defending Colonial Athletic Association championships, as they return a wealth of players that helped guide the squad to the semifinals of the 2021 WNIT semifinals.
