Game Times Set for 2021 Football Season

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program, in partnership with the Colonial Athletic Association, has released its game times for the 2021 season.

After a divisional format was utilized for the 2020-21 season, the CAA returns to its traditional scheduling for 2021. Delaware's slate features a pair of night games to open the season, marking the fifth consecutive fall season that the Blue Hens have opened up on a Thursday night.

The Blue Hens' CAA Title defense begins Thursday, Sept. 2 with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Maine before the home opener at Delaware Stadium, under the lights at 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 against Saint Francis.

Week three's contest at Big Ten-foe Rutgers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will air on Big Ten Network leading into Delaware's open date. The Blue & Gold returns to the First State for a 3 p.m. matchup with Albany on Oct. 2 around Parents and Families Weekend before a 1 p.m. kick at Rhode Island Oct. 9.

The Blue Hens travel to Stony Brook Oct. 16 for a 3:30 p.m. game time before three-straight home games at Delaware Stadium, starting with a homecoming matchup against James Madison at 3 p.m. Oct. 23.

A non-conference contest with Dixie State begins at 1 p.m. inside Delaware Stadium on Oct. 30 and the homestand wraps with a 1 p.m. kickoff against William & Mary on Nov. 6.

The final regular-season road test begins at 2 p.m. at Richmond before the Battle of the Blue returns to Newark for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

The Blue Hens make the quick turnaround to the traditional fall season after an FCS Semifinal run during the 2020-21 campaign. Delaware will return all 16 of its CAA honors from that season, including Offensive Player of the Year Dejoun Lee and Coach of the Year Danny Rocco.
