No Sweat for the Blue Hens, as Fall Camp Brings the Heat

NEWARK, Del. (August 14, 2021) – Two Saturdays into fall camp, and the Delaware football team is less than 20 days away from its season opener at Maine on Thursday, Sept. 2.
Battling the heat and the ever-persistent humidity that Newark has to offer, the Blue Hens practiced at Delaware Stadium this morning. Another steady component that UD has is the drive, energy, and athleticism of its players.
"I think we're right where we need to be. We're probably a little ahead," said head coach Danny Rocco. "With a veteran squad, I feel really good. There are a couple of positions where we're still looking at the depth and figuring out what the rotations will be."
Offensively, the Blue Hens are clicking like they've been playing together since pee wee. The energy on the defense sends chills down the spines of all in attendance, and the special teams unit isn't letting the heat or the distractions get to them.
The Blue Hens have scrimmages tentatively scheduled for Aug. 19, 21, and 26.
