Elena Delle Donne ’13 named to WNBA W25 Greatest Players of All Time List

NEW YORK – On her 32nd birthday, women's basketball alum Elena Delle Donne '13 was named to "The W25", a list of the WNBA's 25 greatest and most influential players since its inception in 1997. A select panel composed of media members and women's basketball pioneers and advocates cast votes that determined "The W25". The list was unveiled during the ABC broadcast of the Las Vegas Aces at Chicago Sky game on Sunday.
Before entering the league in 2013, Delle Donne had an impressive four-year career in a Blue Hen uniform to be viewed as one of the most recognized and accomplished student-athlete in Delaware Athletics history. The Wilmington, Del. native finished her career as the No. 5 all-time leading scorer in NCAA history with 3,039 points and averaged 26.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She set 45 school records and set Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) career records in points, field goals, free throws and blocked shots. In 2012, Delle Donne paced the team to a 31-2 record and appearance in the NCAA Tournament Second Round. During her senior year, she led the 2013 squad to a 32-4 mark and a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16 to be named the Honda National Player of the Year along with being a three-time All-American and a three-time Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. Delle Donne was also a top performer in the classroom as a human services major and was a two-time Capital One National Academic All-American of the Year and a two-time CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Delle Donne would graduate from Delaware with honors in 2013 and in 2018 she was inducted to the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame.
As part of the celebration of their 25th season, the WNBA launched the first-ever "Vote for the GOAT" program. Many WNBA players have been deemed the greatest of all time (GOAT) over the last 25 years, but fans will vote for their GOAT by calling out their pick with the hashtag #WNBAGoatVote on Twitter, on WNBA.com or on the WNBA App.
The 6-foot-5 forward made the list, rightfully so, after putting together an impeccable professional resume:
Beginning on Sept. 5 immediately following the announcement of "The W25," fans will have an opportunity to vote for the member of that esteemed group that they believe is the greatest WNBA player of all time through the "Vote for the GOAT." program. Fan voting will conclude at 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 19. The GOAT will then be unveiled during the WNBA Finals 2021 presented by YouTube TV.

- WNBA App: Fans can access the ballot through both the "Latest" and "More" tabs on the WNBA App, which is available on Android and iOS. Fans can fill out one ballot per day.
- Twitter: Fans can tweet in their votes for their favorite player with the below criteria. An eligible vote consists of:
- The campaign hashtag (e.g.: ##WNBAGoatVote) with the player name with or without a space (e.g.: Jane Doe or JaneDoe) or
- The player Twitter handle (e.g. @WNBAplayerJaneDoe)
– Retweets will count as a valid vote
