Dejoun Lee Named a 2021 FCS ADA Academic All-Star

CLEVELAND – University of Delaware running back Dejoun Lee was one of 50 student-athletes named to the 2021 Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team.
Lee was one of eight CAA football student-athletes selected to the all-star team, which was the most of all FCS conferences. The graduate student was an All-CAA Second Team selection following the season, earning his second All-CAA selection after being named the 2021 Spring CAA Offensive Player of the Year. He led the Blue Hens in rushing with 814 yards on 178 carries. He was fourth in the conference with 4.6 yards per carry and 74.0 yards per game, and had four games with at least 100 rushing yards, including a stretch of three-straight contests. A threat in multiple ways, Lee also ranked sixth in the CAA with 102.1 all-purpose yards per game as he also caught 13 passes for 90 yards and returned 11 kickoffs for 219 yards.
Additionally, Lee was selected as one of the nine finalists for the 21st Annual FCS ADA $5,000 Postgraduate Scholarship. The two winners will be announced at a later date.
About the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team
Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions are eligible for the award. Each of the nominees was required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. They must have reached their second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. They also must have participated in 50 percent of the games played at their designated position.
A special Review Committee of FCS athletics directors were responsible for selecting the 2021 Academic All-Star Team and FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship finalists. This year's Review Committee consisted of: Nicki Moore, Colgate University (Chair); Tom Michael, Eastern Illinois University; Milton Overton, Kennesaw State University; and Ashley Robinson, Jackson State University.
